Recmar® decarbonizing gasket set for Volvo Penta:

• AQ145A BB145A

This head gasket kit, also known as a decarbonizing gasket kit, includes the head gasket with а reference  1378646, 1326785, 1332644. The cylinder head bolts with reference 1306341, should be replaced when needed[1], and tightening should be performed in two stages with bolts lubricated.

Tightening torque settings:

• 60 Nm 44 lbf. ft.
• 90 Nm 66 lbf. ft. [warmed]

The screws are to be re-torqued after the engine has been warmed up and allowed to cool for 30 minutes. When retorquing, screws must first be loosened sufficiently so that they turn when being re-torqued. (Static friction must be overcome).

Kindly check the second picture that provides the necessary instructions, directly quoted from the Volvo Penta workshop manual.

[1] The cylinder head bolts should be replaced when there are signs of elongation, or cannot be specified if it is already elongated, by checking the "waist" of the bolt. As a rule of thumb, a cylinder head bolt of these Aquamatic series, cannot be re-used more than five times.
